The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to advance and demonstrate a passive radio frequency identification (pRFID) capability that automates tool and property inventory tracking for a specific facility, thereby creating an actionable system for real-time tool and property accountability.

Phase I proved the viability of a pRFID-based tool accountability prototype. Phase II will scale this solution across a specific facility. Objectives of Phase II include:

• Integrating real-time work-in-progress (WIP) asset tracking and AI-driven capacity planning
• Utilizing predictive analytics to forecast workflow bottlenecks, optimize asset routing, and provide actionable production timelines
