The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to demonstrate how integrating real-time assessment data with the Sailor Self-Sufficiency Ecosystem (SSES) technology strengthens training, competency tracking, and sustainment outcomes for corrosion prevention and mitigation processes. The overarching goal is to create scalable training model that improves sailors’ ability to execute self-repair, enhances readiness, and provides transferable benefits.
Specific objectives include:
- Creating a training system that generates a comprehensive competency record for each Sailor
- Providing a method for measuring fleet-wide maintenance capabilities
- Enabling the calculation of ROI for training and sustainment investments
