The U.S. Army is partnering with industry and academia on a multi-phased CTMA initiative to ensure that the integration of maintenance and sustainment considerations is implemented into all facets of a program. The maintenance and sustainment considerations include planning, implementation, and management activities associated with the acquisition, development, production, fielding, support, and disposal of a system across its lifecycle while optimizing readiness outcomes and minimal lifecycle costs. The project will also apply a scalable set of standard processes, templates, tools, and metrics for streamlining the development of lifecycle sustainment plans per DOD LCSP 2.0 Guidance. Phase III of this initiative will move to more functional areas such as transportation and spare parts planning.
