The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to develop a workforce development and digital knowledge-capture system that can systematically document, store, and transfer expertise to streamline workforce transition. The overall goal would be the creation of a comprehensive user interface that integrates process documentation, a centralized digital repository, interactive local process guidance, and interactive adult learning theories to enhance retention, understanding, and consistency across the workforce.

Specific objectives would include:

  • Coordinate, develop, and document essential processes to ensure the efficient acquisition of materials for maintenance and repair training
  • Research, develop, and create comprehensive digital libraries that provide users with easy access to process guidance.
  • Develop interactive local guidance programs based on adult learning theories to present process information in an engaging format that focuses on increasing consistency and knowledge of DLA processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Provide insight and recommendations that support technological innovations within DLA maintenance and sustainment through the ongoing R&D of commercial technology.
