The US Department of Defense (DOD) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) are partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to conduct an Industry Collider Day (ICD) exercise to bring together experts from government, industry (large and small businesses) and academia to discuss potential solutions for improving global supply chain performance. The primary objective of this effort is to leverage the implementation of transformation imperatives to improve communication, provide better information exchanges and foster a more informed and satisfied procurement and stakeholder base.
Specific objectives of the ICD include:
- Provide an opportunity for increased industry engagement that leads to better acquisition outcomes and further ecosystem growth, improving support for upcoming contracts and projects.
- Increase awareness of current and future procurement for representatives of industry, academia, and other government entities.
- Efficiently communicate with industry and streamline industry questions about DLA priorities.
- Efficiently share government procurement processes, priorities and projects through the sharing of insight, experiences and advisory comments from multiple experts in the industry.
- Build and celebrate alliances with industry to tackle Research and Development (R&D) problem sets and support the warfighter which will include the increase in small business and academia participation in government contracts.
