The US Department of War is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to demonstrate modernized shipyard operations by creating a unified digital ecosystem that standardizes infrastructure, equipment and procedures across facilities. The overall goal is to improve fleet readiness by forecasting maintenance availabilities with greater accuracy, enhancing information flow within shipyards, and maximizing consistency in ship repair and sustainment.

Phase II will build on the successes of the first phase and focus on completing and demonstrating back shop models and shipyard model annual updates, advancing Block 2 and 3 area development plan sequencing, training users on new capabilities, and expanding AI functionality for Shipyard Industrial Process Model analysis.
