The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to advance the state-of-the-art in developing and demonstrating a common and repeatable Integrated Product Support (IPS) framework and toolset that improves the methods and processes in which surface ship controls and critical systems are designed, integrated, fielded, maintained and sustained.
The industry partner will be expected to:
- have expertise and knowledge of IPS methods and the latest advanced integration, testing, and installation methods
- leverage cross-platform systems commonality, prioritize critical hardware and software interfaces and minimize maintenance activities and configuration variance burdens on the supply chain
- employ systems engineering, data analytics, human systems integration, and other appropriate tools to shape future modernization, technology insertion, and influence design, acquisition, and training outcomes
