The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to demonstrate the process and analytical tools necessary to create an optimized maintenance strategy for Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) for a specific aircraft platform.
An industry team must have the capabilities to:
- understanding of the drivers of maintenance and identification of improvement opportunities based on applicable resource constraints and dependencies
- identify maintenance strategies that include the estimated improvement, resource requirements and risks to implementation using novel technology that can benefit future maintenance optimization
