The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to build an end-to-end workforce development solution for shipyard operations, beginning with attracting a capable and available workforce, providing accelerated training, ensuring placement fit and retention post training within the Maritime Industrial Base (MIB).

The desired program will involve the following objectives:

Skills Development and Safety Requirements – 6 weeks
Trade Theory Training / Relevant Technical Instruction (TTT/RTI) – 8 weeks

The team will be expected to develop curriculum, conduct recruitment and screening, procure tools and consumables, implement trade partnerships, prepare the facility, and train instructors.
