The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to demonstrate the that nucleated foam technology can achieve better aircraft engine cleaning results than traditional methods while using fewer maintenance man-hours (MMHs). Specific objectives include:
- conducting engine washes with nucleated foam technology
- collecting performance data
- analyzing results for validation
- providing training to local maintainers
