The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to demonstrate how integrating real-time assessment data with the Sailor Self-Sufficiency Ecosystem (SSES) strengthens training, competency tracking, and sustainment outcomes for repairs, material upgrades and corrosion assessments. The overall project objective is to generate a comprehensive competency record for each Sailor, enabling leadership to measure fleet-wide maintenance capabilities and calculate ROI for training and sustainment investments.

The scope of this effort involves developing and integrating the SSES into a large and complex competency evaluation system (CES) framework to deliver an initial comprehensive tool for maintenance and sustainment management.
