The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to advance the state-of-the-art in analysis, systems engineering and integration tools and processes to develop, integrate, and test new immersive simulation solutions that will improve reliability, performance, and training quality for simulation training systems. This proof -of-concept initiative has the following overall goals:
- analysis of potential alternative immersive simulation solutions
- system design, development, and test
- final integration of hardware and software solutions
Special emphasis will be on integrating new advanced curriculum development tools along with the latest advanced virtual training environments to effectively train operators and maintainers on emerging technology and the latest maintenance best practices.
