The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to develop and integrate an on-vehicle in situ testing capability of ground vehicle wiring harnesses that would allow wiring harnesses to be assessed without removal.

Specific objectives include:

Enable non-destructive, in-vehicle testing to reduce maintenance downtime
Improve accuracy and speed of diagnostics to lower labor costs and increase system reliability
Minimize vehicle disassembly, preserving component integrity and reducing waste
