The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMAinitiative to demonstrate how duplicating parts and assemblies through reverse engineering, technical data package development, prototyping, and performance validation can reduce the impact of parts obsolescence.  Testing will focus on proving functionality through Engineering Source Activity (ESA) to deliver improved sustainment and maintenance capabilities in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Phase II will build on the successes in Phase I and focus on new items related to a specific platform’s thrust control actuator to achieve the following:

Reverse engineer a sample set of parts and assemblies

  • Develop technical data packages
  • Build tooling, test fixtures, and prototypes
  • In concurrence with the selected platform’s ESA, perform testing and performance validation on selected parts and assemblies

If you feel your organization has the technical capabilities and would like to be considered for this project, please complete the form below and upload your organization’s technical capabilities statement.

Interested Submissions Due by 4/23/25.

We encourage participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), including Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs).
