The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to develop and demonstrate an advanced, automated methodology for evaluating and replacing printed circuit board (PCB) designs in legacy aircraft. The proposed solution, the vehicle test stand (VTS), integrates advanced mechanical and electrical modeling and simulation (M&S) tools and automated workflows to ensure replacement PCB designs meet rigorous standards.
The industry team will focus on developing:
- Demonstration of M&S tools to replace selected PCBs
- Demonstration of automated evaluation processes
- Conducting of digital engineering gap analysis
