Project Announcement: Augmented Reality Training Tool for Maintenance, Sustainment and Workforce Development – Phase II

The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on a multiphase CTMA initiative to incorporate augmented reality into ruggedized technology hardware to improve the training program and knowledge retention of personnel maintaining autonomous vehicles. Additional standards or improved existing standards of specific digital manuals (EPUBS) will also be assessed during this initiative.

Phase II of this effort will leverage lessons learned from phase I, receive a 3D model from the identified OEM, and present how that 3D model’s parts and pieces can be deployed in augmented reality via a GETAC tablet, with installed software. Use of IETM (Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals) / IADS (Interactive Authoring Display Software) will be explored to minimize manual steps for the OEM to create interactive manuals.

If you feel your organization has the technical capabilities and would like to be considered for this project, please complete the form below and upload your organization’s technical capabilities statement.
