Project Announcement: Supporting Supply Chain Resilience and Agility in DLA Strategic Acquisitions

The US Department of Defense is partnering with industry and academia on an initiative to develop a multi-prong approach to address, through data and documentation, efforts to improve the agility and resilience of performance-based and strategic acquisition contracting efforts to support maintenance and sustainment activities. This effort is intended to reach Tier II technology implementation.

Specific goals include:

  • Conducting a proper assessment of the adequacy of existing documentation
  • Mapping the processes involved including order management, inventory management, planning, finance, etc.
  • Identifying existing and needed:
    • processes and procedures
    • training
    • documentation library development
  • Building execution and leadership dashboards
  • Creating advanced models to balance supply chain vs. warfighter risks for decision-making
