Among the recent advances in predictive maintenance are two portable tools developed through NCMS initiatives: the Portable fluid Analyzer Plus (PFA+) and the security-enhanced, portable maintenance support device (SE MSD).
- The PFA+ eliminates the need to send motorized fluid samples out for remote laboratory analysis by performing systems fluid inspections on-site in a span of 15 minutes along with diagnostic messages and recommendations.
- The SE MSD provides maintenance professionals with a protected way to view data from vehicle electronic systems and sensors, diagnostic aids and other predictive maintenances capabilities on site.
- Both devices cut down on cost and time for results to return, leading to a quicker detection of anomalies, timely maintenance interventions, and extended asset life.
